Visitors to the EHM


  • Dr. Christoph Kuells - Institute of Hydrology, Freiburg, Germany. July 30 - August 5 2005. Worked with Prof. Eilon Adar (EHM) on developing a new version of the Mixing Cell Model for a Steady Flow.


  • Dr. Alvaro Aldama and Dr. Javier Aparicio - Mexican Institute of Water Technology, July 16-24 2005. Worked with Prof. Eilon Adar (EHM) on possible future joint groundwater projects between Mexico and Israel.


  • Dr. Kip Solomon - University of Utah. 2005 Darcy Lecturer; guest of Dr. Noam Weisbrod (EHM) in June 2005.


  • Dr. Katherine Baker - Pennsylvania State University, USA. Came to the EHM department for a 6-month sabbatical, January-June 2005. Dr. Baker worked on projects with Prof. Gideon Oron to determine the correlation between indicator and pathogen removal in wastewater treatment systems, and with Dr. Amit Gross and Dr. Drora Kaplan on the development of Recycled Vertical Constructed Wetland Systems for small-scale irrigation using treated domestic graywater.


  • Dr. Gertjan Medema - KIWA, April 2005. Visited the ZIWR to work with Dr. Zeev Ronen and other members of the EHM department on a research proposal to be submitted to the EU.


  • Dr. Zair Shakirov and Dr. Sardor Khakimov - Institute of Microbiology, Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Visited January 7 - March 3 2005, as part of the US AID/CAR project: "The adaptation of Onobrychis, a salt and drought tolerant perennial legume herbaceous species of Central Asia deserts for crop production and to combat desertification". Guests of the project PI, Dr. Ines Soares (EHM).
