Academic Education:

B.Sc. 1964 Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Chemistry Department
M.Sc.  1968 Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. Organic Physical Chemistry
Ph.D. 1973 Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, Polymer Chemistry department

Research Intersts:

Over the last few years, in the Department for Desalination and Water Treatment at the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research and in association with the Department of Biotechnology.

His main projects are in novel nano-vesicles for targeted controlled release to the CNS, novel membranes for fuel cells and energy conversion devices, micro encapsulation of essential oil pesticides. Other active projects I am working on are in RO for sea water desalination, boron removal from water streams, development of unique calcium permeable nanofiltration membranes for water treatment and purification, improved oxidant stable nanofiltration (NF) for municipal waste water treatment, and ion exchange membranes for electrodialysis.

Past Positions

1976 - 1998

Membrane Products Kiryat Weizmann (MPW), Rehovot Israel R&D Manager:

Initiation and development of novel commercial membranes within MPW. Ongoing activity over the years. Many of these membranes have been commercialised. Responsible for the technical success of the Ciba Geigy project of 14 years. This required the initiation, invention and development of membranes that Ciba Geigy could use in their chemical production, biotechnology and waste treatment facilities. MPW was bought by Koch Membrane Systems which continuous to market and sell the Ultrafiltration and nanofiltration membranes I invented and developed.

1972 - 1975

Hoffmann  LaRoche, Nutley ,NJ/USA

Senior Scientist for development of Slow and Rapid Release Oral Dosage Forms and  Synthesis of  Novel Narcotic Antagonists and their formulation  in slow release biodegradable depots
